John Smith is a Tai Chi teacher living in Market Drayton, Shropshire, UK. A professional tutor since 1996, he teaches two authentic Chinese forms, the Long Yang Small Circle Form and the Bejing 24 Step Short Form. In addition he teaches various styles of Qi Gong including the popular 18 exercise set (shi bah shi).

His primary teacher in the fundamentals of internal martial arts has been Peter Gilligan, the author of What is Tai Chi? Peter is not currently teaching due to illness. John currently studies with Faye (Li) Yip, the senior instructor at the Deyin Taijiquan Institute.

He is a registered instructor with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain

Summer 2012 Classes start on 22nd April for the Sunday classes and 30th April for the Monday classes. Dates have been provisionally sorted for all classes up to the end of 2012, and are entered on the Calendar page. Details for all sessions can be found on the Classes page.

At present I am only teaching in Market Drayton, where all students are welcome to attend any of the sessions.

If you only come occasionally, please check on the Calendar page before you come, as the hall may be unavailable on some dates that I have not yet been told about.
